Activity 1A is practice measuring the distance between two points.

 

Prerequisite Skill: Measure the distance between two points using a ruler with a centimeter scale (Assignment 1.11). 

 

How to measure the distance between two points:

 

(Do problem 1 by following the steps below.)

 

 1.  Using a ruler, draw the line determined by points A and B.

 

 2.  Place the centimeter scale on the ruler along the line through A and B.

 

 3.  Read the number on the ruler at A.

 

 4.  Read the number on the ruler at B

 

 5.  Subtract the first number (at A) from the second number (at B).
