Prerequisite Skill: Construct perpendicular lines (Activity 2E). Name parallel lines (Assignment 1.6).
How to construct parallel lines:
(Do problem 1 by following the steps below.)
1. Place the compass point at the given point (A).
2. Construct a line through the point (A) that is perpendicular to the given line (m).
3. Label the line (n) and continue it beyond the point (A).
4. Construct a line at the point (A) that is perpendicular to the constructed line (n).
5. Name the line (q). Line q is parallel to line m.
