About Geometry Worksheet Assignment 1.8:

Assignment 1.8 is a review of slopes of lines on the coordinate plane.

Prerequisite Skills: Subtract integers (positive and negative),

Definition:  The slope of a line on the coordinate plane is the ratio of its rise to its run.

Theorem: For a line through points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2), the rise is y2 - y1, the run is x2 - x1 , and the slope is  y2 - y1

                                                                                                                                                                                x2 - x1
