Geometry worksheet to help students identify the legs, hypotenuse, and acute angles in right triangles; and classify triangles in two ways: by congruent sides and kind of angles.

About Geometry Worksheet Assignment 3.13:

Assignment 3.13 is an introduction to classification of triangles by types of angles.

Prerequisite Skills: Name line segments (Assignment 1.12).  Name angles (Assignment 2.4).  Identify right angles (Assignment 2.10).  Classify triangles by congruent sides (Assignment 3.12).

Definitions:  A triangle with all acute angles is an acute triangle.

A triangle with a right angle is a right triangle.  The perpendicular sides of a right triangle are its legs.  The other side is the hypotenuse.

A triangle with an obtuse angle is an obtuse triangle.

Theorem:     In a right triangle, one angle is a right angle and the other two angles are acute..
