About Geometry Worksheet Assignment 7.1:

Assignment 7.1 is the development of the theorem relating the lengths of the sides of a right triangle.

Prerequisite Skill:  Identify the legs and hypotenuse of right triangles (Assignment 3.13).

Definition:  The perpendicular sides of a right triangle are its legs.  The other side is the hypotenuse.

Theorem:   In a right triangle, the sum of the squares of the lengths of the legs is equal to the square of the length of the hypotenuse.
