About Geometry Worksheet Assignment 8.13:                   

 

Assignment 8.13 is an introduction to ratio of areas in similar polygons and its relationship to the ratio of scale factors.

 

Prerequisite Skills:  Write ratios (Assignment 6.1).  Find the scale factor in similar polygons (Assignment 6.9).  Solve proportions (Assignment 6.2).

 

Theorem:  The areas of similar polygons are proportional to the squares of the scale factors.
