About Geometry Worksheet Assignment 9.10:

Assignment 9.10 is practice in finding and using slopes to determine whether lines containing points with algebraic coordinates are parallel or perpendicular.

Prerequisite Skills:  Find slopes of lines determined by points with algebraic coordinates (Assignment 9.9).  Use slopes to determine whether lines are parallel (Assignment 1.9).  Use slopes to determine whether lines are perpendicular (Assignment 2.18).

Theorems:  Lines with the same slope (or no slope) are parallel.

Lines with slopes that are negative reciprocals (or 0 and no slope) are perpendicular.
