Activity 3E is an introduction to the construction of medians of triangles.

 

Prerequisite Skills: Identify and name medians of triangles (Assignment 3.15).  Construct the midpoint of a line segment (Activity 1C).

 

How to construct the median of a triangle:

 

(Do problem 1 by following the steps below.)

 

1.  Construct the midpoint of side BC.  Name the point D.

 

2.  Draw line segment AD.
