About Geometry Worksheet Assignment 1.17:         

 

Assignment 1.17  is an introduction to midpoints on the coordinate plane.

 

Prerequisite Skills: Write coordinates of points and plot points on the coordinate plane (Assignment 1.7).  Identify midpoints (Assignment 1.16).  Add integers. Simplify fractions.

 

Theorem:  The coordinates of the midpoint of a line segment with endpoints (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is      (   x1 + x2  ,  y1 + y2      )
