About Geometry Worksheet Assignment 5.19:

Assignment 5.19 is an introduction to using CPCTC to prove geometric relationships using flow charts.

Prerequisite Skill:  Use flow charts to prove congruent triangles and use CPCTC to prove pairs of sides and angles of triangles congruent (Assignment 5.17).

Definitions:  Definition of Isosceles Triangle: A triangle that has two congruent sides is isosceles.

Definition of Midpoint: A point that divides a line segment into two congruent line segments is a midpoint..

Theorems:   Alternate Interior Angle Theorem: Lines intersected by a transveral so that the alternate interior angles are congruent are parallel.

Perpendicular Lines Theorem: Two lines that intersect to make congruent adjacent angles are perpendicular.
