About Geometry Worksheet Assignment 9.4:

Assignment 9.4 is an introduction to using both the Distance and slope formulas in classifying quadrilaterals in the coordinate plane as parallelograms, trapezoids, rhombuses, rectangles, squares, or kites.

Prerequisite Skills:  Find the distance between two points using the Distance formula (Assignment 9.2).  Find the slopes of a line through two points (Assignment 1.8).  Classify quadrilaterals by congruent sides (Assignment 3.19).  Use slopes to determine whether lines are perpendicular (Assignment 2.18). Classify quadrilaterals with right angles (Assignment 3.20).
