About Geometry Worksheet Assignment 10.7:

Assignment 10.7 is an introduction to central angles and their intercepted arcs.

Prerequisite Skills:  Name angles, and name vertices and sides of angles (Assignment 2.4).  Identify radii and diameters of a circle (Assignment 10.1).

Definitions:  A central angle is an angle with vertex at the center of a circle and sides that are radii.

An arc is the locus of points on a circle that lie on a central angle or in its interior.

A major arc is the locus of points on a circle that lie on a central angle or in its exterior.

A semicircle is the locus of points on a circle that lie on a diameter or on the circle between the endpoints of the diameter.
