About Geometry Worksheet Assignment 2.18:

Assignment 2.18 is an introduction to the use of slope to determine whether lines on the coordinate plane are perpendicular.

Prerequisite Skills: Find slopes of lines on the coordinate plane by counting rise and run (Assignment 1.8).  Find slopes of lines using the slope formula (Assignment 1.9).  Identify perpendicular lines (Assignment 2.16).

Postulate:  Lines with slopes that have a product of -1 are perpendicular.  Lines with slopes that do not have a product of -1 are not perpendicular.
