About Geometry Worksheet Assignment 3.10:

Assignment 3.10 is an introduction to rotational symmetry of polygons.

Prerequisite Skills:  Identify rotations of polygons (Assignment 3.9).

Definition:  A polygon has rotational symmetry if an image of the polygon can be rotated about a center point less than 360 to coincide with the polygon.

Theorems:  Regular polygons have rotational symmetry.

The measure through which a regular polygon can be rotated to coincide with itself is a multiple of the measure of its central angle.
