Definitions: An argument is a set of premises and a conclusion.

                          A valid argument is an argument in which the conclusion is true if the premises are true.

                          A sound argument is a valid argument in which the premises are true.

                          Deductive Reasoning is the process of using a sound argument to make a conclusion based on a set of premises.
