Prerequisite Skill:  Identify the hypothesis and conclusion in a conditional sentence (Assignment 5.6)

 

Symbolic Definitions:  Conditional:         If p, then q.

                                                Converse:             If q, then p

                                                Inverse:                 If not p, then not q.

                                                Contrapositive:    If not q, then not p.

 

Postulate:  A conditional is logically equivalent to its contrapositive.
